Turn on the news, they’re screamin’ again,
Tellin’ me my neighbor ain’t my friend.
Red and blue like it’s blood in the streets,
But the only war’s between you and me.
Ain’t no rich man swingin’ a hammer,
Ain’t no senator covered in grime.
But they tell us who to hate, who to fight,
While they sit back and watch us divide.
Divide and conquer, that’s the game,
Keep us blind while they light the flame.
Pointin’ fingers while they count their gold,
Turnin’ brothers against their own.
They say the problem’s the man next door,
Not the ones who send our kids to war.
Preachin’ fear from a TV screen,
While they steal our land and kill our dreams.
Ain’t no billionaire stocking these shelves,
Ain’t no talkin’ head diggin’ these wells.
But they tell us who to hate, who to blame,
While they drink fine wine on a private plane.
They keep us down ‘cause they know we’re strong,
If we stood together, they wouldn’t last long.
So they feed us lies, they keep us scared,
While they take and take ‘til there’s nothin’ there.
But I ain’t fallin’ for the game no more,
Ain’t fightin’ my kin, I know the score.
We all bleed red, we all want peace,
It’s the ones in power that we should see.
