then one element changes

the pattern continues

another element changes

still recognisable

then less so

the repetition returns

but it is no longer the same repetition

something has been retained

something has disappeared

the old shape is almost remembered

another shape begins to emerge

the music does not announce the change

it simply continues

until the pattern is gone

and something else remains
