almost nothing

it repeats

another sound joins it

then another

the first pattern continues

the new sounds do not replace it

they multiply around it

the piano begins to escape

the strings become more insistent

another layer appears

then another

the original pattern remains

but it is almost buried

the music becomes crowded

then denser

then fuller

nothing has changed its mind

everything is still happening

all at once

for a while

the small pattern can barely be heard
